Senior Thesis

Wrote a long-form research essay examining how Disney’s Moana and Coco use cultural references, applying communications theories to analyze how cultural symbols are represented authentically and respectfully. Developed an independent research study to observe and interpret real-world applications of these symbols, exploring how the films navigate the line between cultural appreciation and appropriation. The project highlights skills in research, critical thinking, theory application, and long-form writing, demonstrating the ability to connect media analysis with broader communication concepts.
